Bishop Lambert de la Motte

Born on January 16, 1624 in Lisieux, France.
Baptized at the Church of Jacques on February 15, 1624.
Ordained to Priesthood on December 27, 1655.
Installed as Bishop on June 11, 1660.
Appointed by the Holy Sea to be the Apostolic Vicar of Southern Vietnam in 1669.
Was the first Bishop of the Southern Diocese in Vietnam.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE QUINHON MISSIONARY SISTERS OF THE HOLY CROSS

Congregation of QuiNhon Missionary Sisters of the Holy Cross is a Diocesan Congregation. The sisters have been present and served in evangelization since the Holy See established the Diocese[1] in the South of Vietnam, the forerunner of the QuiNhon Diocese today. Throughout the Diocese’s history, the mission of the Congregation has had deep influences and imprints. The Congregation is established in the Vietnamese language with the nature, charism, spirituality and characteristics appropriate to ministry and evangelization in Vietnamese society.
